Simulation of Airflow Over High Lift Generating (HLG) Fuselage and Conventional Aircraft Fuselage

چکیده
The objective of this study is to attempt a comparative evaluation of aerodynamic features of a conventional aircraft fuselage and those of a specially developed high lift generating (HLG) fuselage. This work is directed towards attainment of substantially higher lift coefficients, needed for future generations of transport aircraft with short take-off and landing capabilities (STOL). The conventional fuselage considered here is an Airbus A310 fuselage whose aerodynamic characteristics have been evaluated and compared with those of a HLG fuselage of identical size (cubical volume) developed with STOL objectives in mind. For the purpose of determination of the lift and the drag forces experienced by both the conventional as well as HLG fuselage, CFD technique has been used. The standard set of conditions have been applied identically to both the bodies over a range of angle of attack varying from to12 Much better CL values without any flow separation up to AOA of 12 degrees as compared to Airbus A310 Fuselage clearly establishes the superiority of proposed HLG fuselage over the conventional fuselage not only from the point of view of STOL capabilities but also overall efficiency of the airplane.

This paper deals with the study and comparison of passive and active landing gear system of the aircraft and dynamic responses due to runway irregularities while the aircraft is taxying. The dynamic load and vibration caused by the unevenness of runway will result in airframe fatigue, discomfort of passengers and the reduction of the pilot’s ability to control the aircraft. One of the objectiv...
متن کاملMeasurement of Insertion Loss of an Acoustic Treatment in the Presence of Additional Uncorrelated Sound Sources
A method to intended for measurement of the insertion loss of an acoustic treatment applied to an aircraft fuselage in-situ is documented in this paper. Using this method, the performance of a treatment applied to a limited portion of an aircraft fuselage can be assessed even though the untreated fuselage also radiates into the cabin, corrupting the intensity measurement. This corrupting noise ...

This paper describes a conceptual design of fuselage structure for very light jet aircraft by using CAD software as the design tool. Specific size and performance, the number of competing designs and the commonality of features with existing light jet aircraft are factors need to be considered in the design process. This conceptual design develops the first general size and configuration for a ...

Conventional commercial aircraft fuselages use all-aluminium semi-monocoque structures where the skin carries the external loads, the internal fuselage pressurization and is strengthen using frames and stringers. Environmental and economic issues force aircraft designers to minimize weight and costs to keep air transport competitive and safe. But as metal designs have reached a high degree of p...
